The world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturing company, Hero MotoCorp, prepares to unveil its latest creation, the Hero Mavrick 440, later this month.
The highly awaited motorcycle is rumoured to share its underpinnings with the Harley-Davidson X440 and has recently been spotted on the test, cloaked in heavy camouflage.
The Mavrick 440 is poised to bring a fresh design direction to Hero MotoCorp, aiming to distinguish itself from competitors in the market.
The company had recently trademarked two names, Mavrick and Hurikan, sparking speculation about the name of the new streetfighter, reported HT Auto. The Hero Mavrick 440 emerged as the chosen name and is set to be the Indian brand’s version built on the same platform as the Harley-Davidson X440. The launch date for the Hero Mavrick 440 is slated for January 23, 2024.
Mavrick 440 Design :-
The newly-released sketches reveal that the Mavrick 440 has a circular headlamp with what looks like a daytime-running light, indicating that the Mavrick could be dressed in a neo-retro design language. The upright handlebars mean that the Maverick 440 could have a fairly neutral riding position, which would make it comfortable for long rides and city commuting alike.
The sketches also reveal a wide one-piece seat that tapers towards the front of the bike, which could make the bike more accessible to riders with shorter legs at the expense of a little extra cushioning.
ENGINE AND PERFORMANCE :-
Underpinnings and powertrain in Mavrick 440 will be borrowed from Harley Davidson X440. The bike will sit on a suspension setup comprising 43mm KYB USD telescopic front forks and dual shock absorbers at the rear. Braking duties will be carried out by 320mm front and 240mm rear disc brakes aided by a dual-channel ABS. We also expect Hero to offer features like TFT instrument panel, Bluetooth connectivity, location alerts, etc.
Powering Mavrick 440 is a 440cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled, two-valve, SOHC engine that will push out 27 bhp and 38 Nm of peak torque. This engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. Upon launch, Hero Mavrick will compete against the likes of Triumph Speed 400, Royal Enfield Classic 350, Hunter 350 and its own cousin Harley Davidson V440.
